Combat is real-time with a spear: run into enemies for a running attack, jump and strike for a jump attack, and hold guard to block projectiles (it does not block melee). There is no MP and no magic bar — offense is built around positioning and reading enemy tells, so most fights reward patience over button mashing.

Magic runs entirely on Magirock, an ore you find in deposits across the world. At magic shops you exchange Magirock for one-time-use magic rings and summon medals. Clear River Games announced the re-release for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and GOG, with physical editions planned through a partnership with Limited Run Games. This is also the game's first official North American release of any kind.
